Fern Walker Charity Swim

Ayr girl Fern Walker, attempts more than 1400 lengths over the coming weeks.

The 32-year-old is putting in the aqua miles at her favourite pools in Prestwick and Troon in the hope of raising more than £1000.

Fern said: “I really enjoy my swimming and I come to the pool three times a week.

“It will be tough to complete all these lengths and I’ve just started out – but I’m enjoying it so far.”

Fern, who lives with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS), is completing the challenge with the aid of her care team at Partners For Inclusion.

Laura Templeton said “Fern is participating in a swim challenge to help raise awareness and support her charity. She is going to be swimming 22 miles in just 12 weeks. Fern is doing amazing. Overcoming all obstacles fern is swimming 45-50 lengths 3 times a week.”

Fern’s family and community are all incredibly proud of Fern and what she has strived to achieve. Fern is an inspiration to us all.

Congratulations Fern on a Job Well done !
