I’ve been with Partners for Inclusion since 2014 and worked in social care for over 20 years. What I love most is the truly person-centred support to help people to live the life they want.

I think it’s also really important that the people that are employed are in the person supported’s life for the right reasons.

Having worked in this sector for nearly 20 years, I have learned so much through my time here. I love the fact that people’s expectations have grown and they know only too well what they want, need and deserve from their support.  We are all equal and should always remind ourselves of this.

Michele Munro

I have been working with the Partners for Inclusion Group since May 2011. In this time I have been both Service Leader and Senior Service Leader in Just Connections and then was successful in being appointed as Director in September 2014.

Prior to joining The PFI Group I had worked with C-Change Scotland for over 8 years as a Service Leader. I then moved location and worked in a residential service in the North East of England for 2 years. The experience in England was very interesting and it made me realise that I wanted to work in the way I had previously; in a very focussed and person centred way hence me joining PFI.

I come from a nursing background having spent a number of years living in the Scottish Borders where I undertook my nurse training. Since qualifying I have worked for various third sector organisations supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

When not working I spend my time with family and friends, reading, doing the odd bit of baking and trying to learn the banjo. I also have a little Bichon Frise called Huxley (named after Aldous Huxley). The day I bought Huxley I had two names in mind; thankfully the Sheryl Crow song “Run Baby Run” kept repeating in my head with the line “the day Aldous Huxley died” or he would have been Bailey!

Pete Richmond
CEO

Pete qualified as a social worker from Ruskin College Oxford in 1990. His experience includes working alongside the North West Development Team in supporting people with learning disabilities to move from long-stay hospitals to their own homes, through an approach known as ‘ordinary life’.

He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Before qualifying, he worked for 8 years as a support practitioner in both the public and not-for-profit sectors.
For 14 years Pete worked as a commissioner and strategist for local authorities which gave the opportunity to gain insight into how the social care sector works.

It’s with this insight he feels well qualified to describe PFI as one of only a very few organisations that is truly committed to a participatory way of working. ‘I’m incredibly proud of working at Partners for Inclusion where both people who we support and those who work in the organisation are given the space to grow’.
