*Female Support Practitioner – FT/KMCD – 14hrs per week

Kirsty is a happy, energetic young woman who enjoys, music and watching game shows, Disney and sport on TV, playing games, playing with her Wii and her iPad and doing her jigsaws. Kirsty loves the company of others and has a fantastic sense of humour. Kirsty also likes going out and about in her local community and in her car.

Kirsty also requires support around her health and personal care needs.  

Kirsty requires Support Practitioners who;

  • Share similar interests
  • Are bright and bubbly and energetic
  • Can support Kirsty with her health needs
  • Can support Kirsty to maintain relationships with family and friends
  • Can support Kirsty to maintain her home

Essential for the role is that you can demonstrate the following:

  • Flexible in working times as post includes evening, week end working and overnight support
  • Understand how to work in a person centred way
  • Understand all behaviour is communication
  • Ability to motivate
  • Flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work on own initiative and as part of the team
  • A suitable licence to drive Kirsty’s mobility car

Desirable

  • SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this
  • IT skills to support Kirsty with her iPad and access resources within the Organisation.  

This role involves shift work including evening, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays.

You should also have experience of or a real interest in supporting people with disabilities to develop new skills.

You can only be appointed for this post if you are registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and are able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council when required for your post.
