Partners for Inclusion Group have an exciting opportunity for the right person in East Renfrewshire for Colin.
Colin is a young man who lives in his own home with the support of his team in East Renfrewshire. Colin needs a support team around him to promote his independent and create opportunities to get out and about and help keep is house clean and tidy. Colin has autism and needs his team to be patient, understanding and take time to learn about him. Colin likes his team to initiate chores and activities, and he will join in at his own pace. You would be fully trained in supporting Colin and some of the challenges that he can present. Colin has his own car to a driver (automatic is essential).
As a Senior Support Practitioner, you will:
- An understanding and/or experience of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Lead and mentor existing team.
- Be available to workdays, evenings, weekends, sleepovers.
- Carry out 1:1 Support and Development for team members.
- Identifying skills and areas for development.
- Link in with Service Leader.
- Have a flexible can-do attitude.
- Demonstrate effective leadership skills.
- Self-reflection and development, for yourself and others.
- Excellent and clear-communication, IT, listening and written skills.
- Link families and other professionals.
- Keeping all relevant paperwork updated.
The ideal candidate will have an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or above. Register with the SSSC in Care at Home and Housing Support Services on taking up the post. You will also need to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG). This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
