Support Practitioner – 4 hrs per week

Ryan lives at home with his parents in the Troon area. He enjoys going out in his car   he also enjoys going out in his local area. Ryan also enjoys visiting a variety of places in his community and beyond.

Ryan is looking for a support worker who:

• Is open minded
• Has a good sense of humour
• Is respectful and non-judgmental
• Is able to stick to boundaries
• Is a quick thinker
• Has a positive outlook
• Is a good clear communicator
• Is alert
• Is approachable

Essential for the role is that you can demonstrate the following:

• Work in a person-centred way
• Understand the importance of family involvement and multi-agency working
• An understanding that all behaviour is communication
• Work as part of a small team

Desirable

• An understanding or experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities
• SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this

This is a really exciting and interesting opportunity for the right person.  The post  involves days and evenings.

This role involves shift work including public holidays.

You can only be appointed for this post if you are registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and are able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council when required for your post.
